In a continuation of Thryn’s cosy witch x demon romance series, a darkness has fallen over Amberfell with the death of a very prominent town figure, and Phee, our local witch, believes there’s more to the case than meets the eye.
As she and Gaap, her demon boyfriend, team up with a skeptical detective to investigate the circumstances leading up to the woman’s death, they continue to learn more about each other and their powers.
Once again, I am in love with the golden retriever energy of Gaap and the black cat, grouchy energy of Phee and the way they balance each other out.
I also always enjoy the way that Thryn includes history and architecture in these stories, making the setting just a touch more real despite the curses and imps and demons. I also live for the small town drama, and of course the imp-in-talking-dog-form, Keith.
I have my suspicions that the demon activity in this book will circle back to book one in the end and I can’t wait to find out.
