Quick review;
I wanted to like this book but it was a near DNF for me!
Literally the best part was Ione & Elm, I was invested in their story but the rest of the details and wordbuilding kind of fell flat for me. I wanted to be invested in the Nightmare/Shepherd King but he and his memories and interactions throughout the book mostly irritated me?
I thought the trees were neat.
I was told to keep reading after One Dark Window because it gets better, but I have to disagree 🫣
This book series is incredibly popular, so… what were your thoughts?
