Quick review:
This was a super cute cozy fantasy romance. With elements of magic, found family, returning home, and small town community, it ticks pretty much every cozy romance box but adds in a great non-animal familiar, Caz the Spider Plant.

I enjoyed the humor, and the magical creatures residing on the island. I especially loved the addition of Meep to the family.

By the end, I felt slightly as if I was reading the story through the eyes of a side character, as Radane’s situation seemed to have far bigger stakes than Kiela’s, our runaway librarian/thief/sorceress FMC.

SPOILER!!!!
I also felt it wrapped up too easily at the end, and while the yearning was there throughout the book, Kiela and Larran’s relationship just kind of jumped into existence at the end. Not every happily ever after needs a marriage proposal!!
END SPOILER.

Read it, or don’t. It’s very cozy.
