The Duke and I delivered banter, entertaining family dynamics, and humor effortlessly but fell short on the steamy romance and stumbled into long winded drudgery. I appreciated that Daphne had a distinct personality in the book, but expected more from their post-marriage story. When the book became singularly focused and Daphne and the Duke, much of the appeal disappeared along with the Bridgerton family and the ton.
Even the post-epilogue epilogue was too long, though I did find it sweet.
