Sunshine’s Syndicate by Brittany Tucker is a quick-paced fantasy novel reminiscent of The Little Mermaid – but served with a side of vampires, tyrannical government, resistance, blood, and trauma.

The magic system is overwhelmingly unique; the realm, layered and colorful.

And the characters…

Jayvin, our MMC Vampire, is a traumatized puppy dog with an innate desire to learn, discover, and.. well, sometimes kill people, but ultimately he’s a sweetheart fighting an inner demon and loads of trauma.

Tetra, the FMC Mermaid, is clumsy, loyal, and, most importantly, determined. She’s someone who sees the good in people to a fault which is really helpful when you’re a vampire who has slayed hundreds like Jayvin 🤣

There is a colorful cast of supporting side characters such as a Goblin named Boot, a sassy Orc, a Kraken man and an enthusiastic Dwarf. Brittany draws you directly into the nest of this band of misfits and you’ll giggle alongside the characters at silly situations, ‘family’ squabbles, and good natured fun.

And, of course, you’ll share in their frenzied determination to pull off the greatest heist the realm has ever seen…

Anything else would be a spoiler, but if you enjoy a well crafted fantasy realm with colorful characters and beautiful worldbuilding, you should add Sunshine’s Syndicate to your TBR.
