Book Review: Nothing Bot Trouble

Nothing Bot Trouble is a cozy, sci Fi romance between a lonely human and an illegal robot.

Nora Hale decides to start a new life on the moon, finding herself immediately called to a small abandoned repair shop. Within days she is the new owner, settling into a bizarre community of outcasts including an illegal robot, a plant obsessed oddball, a teenager with rocket boots, a random cat, and the local cafe owner.

The cozy, found family vibes are strong in this book and the snark of our beloved plant lady kept me guessing.

I really, really wanted to love it, but I’m afraid this book fell too far into coziness for me; the general lack of conflict and eventual underwhelming yet predictable resolution didn’t make for the best storyline.

I think if you just need a light read with some cute characters and cozy vibes, you will enjoy the found family dynamics and robot/human relationships formed.

For me, this story needed a little bit more character depth or slightly higher stakes.

All that said, it is a cute and predictable romance that brings into question what sets apart sentient life from people.
