This beautiful sequel follows Sam, our protagonist from Palm Trees and Blue Beads, as she settles back into life with her found family.
As soon as things start feeling normal, though, a huge wrench is thrown into the cogs of her life — a sudden tragedy (if you could call it that, for Sam certainly has mixed feelings) and a teenage foster child, so reminiscent of Sam’s younger years, who becomes entangled in her life.
I can’t say too much without spoiling things, but there is so much beauty and hope woven into this story of desperation, loss, grief, discovery, and healing.
